Sitting Posture:Learning to sit to reduce pain

If you have a job that requires you to spend long periods of time sitting then it is very important to learn proper posture while sitting. The first step is to purchase a chair that is able to adjust. You will want to sit so that your feet are flat on the floor with you knees being slightly lower than your hips to keep your hip flexors from shortening. You will want  your arms to be at a 90 degree angle with your shoulders relaxed and the keyboard at the same level. The center of the monitor should be level with your eyes. If you need extra support for your lower back use a lumbar support.proper-computer-postureAs far as your torso is concerned you will want to keep your ribs level with your abdomen. The next step is too imagine your “butt” bone known as the SITS bones as a tree’s roots being sent downward while at the same time lengthening , growing, and expanding upwardly with you torso while keeping your ribs level with your stomach. The object is to push away from the points of pressure.  If you learn to sit this way, your posture will improve and your back PAIN will disappear. Try it out and let me know how it works for you. Live Free

As an evolving human, I seek freedom. There are many paths to freedom, but I also wish to achieve it without disregarding Mother Nature. The good news is that it is really easy to Live more and work less. All you have to do is shift your thinking from “what do I want?”to “what do I need?”. Essentially what you are doing is simplifying your life by choosing to not be a consumer. Instead you will choose to contribute to life and make Earth a place that is beautiful and livable. When you choose to consume less, you have more money left over, when you have more money left over, you can pay your bills easier, when you pay your bills easier, you have less stress, since you have less stress you are happier, since yours bills have been reduced, you don’t have to work as hard, which in turn gives you more time to LIVE and enjoy being human, and after all, we are humanBEINGS! Start today by examining your life and see if you can break the cycle of consumption. Look at your skills and talents or “things you already have and use them as bargaining chips for “stuff” you want, instead of racking up more credit card debt. This doesn’t cost anything. Well actually it costs your labor, but if it is something you enjoy than it is just a labor of love, not a “job”! Eventually you will start to desire freedom more than “stuff” and when you get a little taste of freedom, you will want more, when you desire more, you will become more focused, present, and in the moment and this my friend, is LIVING!

Intro to “Wealthness”

So what is Wealthness? Generally speaking it is the balance of the mind, body, and spirt resulting in overall health and freedom from disease. Dis-ease is a body that is not at ease. To achieve Wealthness you need to understand the different aspects of being healthy. In its simplest form, to be healthy you MUST eat real food, breath, drink clean water, sleep well,  and move. So how do you do this? You make a plan. You design your life and choose a strategy that works for you. To eat real food, you must stop purchasing processed/chemically laced foods and conventional meats, which are filled with antibiotics and steroids not to mention the animals are abused and the land is degraded. You will want to eat as fresh and local as possible, organic produce and grass fed animal products,  as well as some fermented foods for gut health.  Breathing is vital and thus the importance of natural breathing. When you are relaxed, you breath naturally using your diaphragm and when you are stressed out you breath using your accesory muscles of the neck and chest to forcefully pull the oxygen up. This is why it is important to develop strategies of dealing with stress. A regular practice  of meditation, deep breathing, yoga, or Qi gong  is very beneficial for stress management. Drink plenty of clean water. Learn more about water at a good night sleep is very important for body regeneration. This is the time your body cleans itself and reboots. For more on Sleep go to, you will want to be active and move your body. The old adage, “Use it or lose it” is a true depiction of what happens when you live a sedintary life. You need energy and vitality to be healthy. You get this through physical activity. Start at you current level and get moving. If you need energy try working in by doing energy building forms of exercise such as Tai chi or Qi gong and if you have energy go workout your body. These are the foundations to health. Study and master them and you will reap the rewards of being a healthy human. Remember to “Be good to your Body and Your Body will be good to You”!
