Laughter
When they said that laughter is the best medicine, boy oh boy, they were not kidding! We all know that it feels really good to laugh, but did you know that a hearty daily laugh can activate the chemistry of the will to live and increase our capacity to fight disease? Yes, laughing relaxes the body and reduces problems associated with high blood pressure, strokes, arthritis, and ulcer, just to name a few. In addition to all that, laughter reduces pain by releasing endorphins that are more potent than equivalent amounts of morphine.
Everyone loves someone who can make them laugh. The more you share your sense of humor, the more friends you will have. And trust that you will be a best friend to your own body just by indulging in some daily chuckles. Next time you are feeling low, put in your favorite DVD comedy and watch your whole perception of attitude shift from hopelessness to blissful joy in just moments. And please, by all means learn to keep things light by laughing at yourself. I promise you that by doing this little act of lightness, you will become the miracle that you seek. And remember….
